What is a Device
Driver?
A device driver is program that controls a device such as a printer,
a mouse, a scanner, or a modem. A driver is used to
communicate between the device itself and the programs that use the
device. For example, a modem driver is the program that translates
information between your modem and Early Response.

What is a Chipset?
A Chipset is a number of computer integrated circuits designed to
perform one or more related functions. For example, a chipset may
provide the basic functions for a modem. Chipsets are designed by a
company and then used by other companies that manufacturer devices such as
a modem or printer. Certain chipsets may be designed to handle
certain functions better than other chipsets. Modems using chipsets
